Red Queen

What. A. Book.

At first, I had no intention of reading this book. Ahhh! *The world is gasping*. However, on holiday I found myself bookless! And my sister came to my rescue, handing me this book, which I devoured in a whopping two days. I was instantly hooked.

Mares life was so interesting I was asking myself so many questions, that couldn’t go unanswered! My constant need for knowing what would happen next made me so sad that the book had ended (which i was so surprised by! The plot-twists!).

This was a fast paced book…

Which I loved!

You know when you’re reading a really good book, and its getting really tense and you’re reading really quickly and you’re getting really excited as you read and you probably look like you’re insane as you read because you’re tapping your foot with so much force? That was me. For the entirety of the book. I mean, at times, it was worse than others, but yeah. This book made me crazy! (Please comment if it’s not just me who does this so that I don’t feel like I am actually insane!)

Victoria Aveyard did a magnificent job! Honestly I think this is my favourite read of the year. Its literally blown evrything out of the water. I can’t even… OMG! Even thinking about this book is making my heartrate go sky high! And that folks, is when you know you have read a truly amazing book.

I can barly put my thoughts down it was so good, and I can’t wait to read the next book!

Who else has read this book amd loved it as much as I did?

  1. I completely agree with everything you mentioned and felt the same way through the book!
I kept seeing Red Queen and I heard a lot of good reviews about it but I never actually wanted to read it but then I was bored and figured that I might as well try. I’m so happy I did! This book changed me in a way and the ending was EPIC! I immediately started the second book because I couldn’t wait to read more about Mare and Cal and Maven! Now I’m just dying to read the third book! Hope you enjoy Glass Sword as much because I totally thought it was awesome too

      1. Cal and Mare are so cute together my heart just melts 😍You should definitely read it ASAP and also the two novellas Queen Song and Steel Scars. I cried for about half an hour after those two.The plot twists are one of the things I love MOST about Victoria, I mean I’m just left open-mouthed and dumbfounded afterwards.

        1. Oh no!! Why did you cry, did a character die?! Wait, no, don’t answer that! Thank you for telling me about the novellas, I’d never heard of them before! Omg, I’m getting really excited now 🙊🙊🙊!!!!

          1. I’ve swore an oath to NEVER spoil anything so I guess you HAVE to read and figure them out yourself. The story of the novellas just affected me so much and I could relate to someone there SO much which is probably why I cried so much.

                    4. I’m glad because those books/series were the highlights of my reading life mostly.
It was actually recommended to me by a friend so I got the book opened it and instantly fell in love with the words from the very first sentence. This book is basically about two boys who met and became the best kind of friends. Aristotle’s life was someone else’s idea and Dante’s vision of the world was unique. The books genre is contemporary YA and it’s one of my FAVOURITE contemporaries ever written. The characters, words, thoughts and pretty much everything were just awesome!
You HAVE to read this book too!!! I’m probably adding so much pressure on you with all these great epic books…
So what about you? Do u have any special favourites you might recommend?

                      Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon
                      Amy and Rodgers Epic Detour
The secret fire by C J Daugherty and Carina Rozenfield
Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare (and her other works)
There are many more, however i tried to condense it a tad! Im going to be doing a blog post about it soon, you should do one too!

                    6. Oh I actually don’t know some of these books. I’ll check them out on Goodreads then try to read them as soon as my pile of books I should read is reduced. Thanks a lot. 😄

          1. Yep in Glass Sword that’s pretty much all I did… I try not to read in front of others because I sometimes laugh or gasp at something someone said or something that happened and then people just stare at me like I’m crazy which happened while I was reading Glass Sword 😅
Try to take your time though because we have a long wait for the third book to come out. 😁These authors are killing me with the waiting.

            1. I do that so often! I find that whenever i read, if it’s a good book, i get caught up so bad that I laugh out loud, or start smiling when I read?! Then I look like a right ol’ loonie and i have sworn to never read in public to save my self of the humiliation!!
