Book Haul. | Signed Copy! | The Excite.

Yo!

So exciting news!!! Today, after getting an interview for work experience next April, I popped into Waterstones, as they had a ‘buy one get one half-price’ sale, and found ‘Holding Up The Universe’ by Jennifer Niven and ‘The Sun Is Also A Star’ by Nicola Yoon, and I only paid £11.00.

About the books:

Natasha: I’m a girl who believes in science and facts. Not fate. Not destiny. Or dreams that will never come true. I’m definitely not the kind of girl who meets a cute boy on a crowded New York City street and falls 28763485.jpgin love with him. Not when my family is twelve hours away from being deported to Jamaica. Falling in love with him won’t be my story.

Daniel: I’ve always been the good son, the good student, living up to my parents’ high expectations. Never the poet. Or the dreamer. But when I see her, I forget about all that. Something about Natasha makes me think that fate has something much more extraordinary in store—for both of us.

The Universe: Every moment in our lives has brought us to this single moment. A million futures lie before us. Which one will come true?

28686840Everyone thinks they know Libby Strout, the girl once dubbed “America’s Fattest Teen.” But no one’s taken the time to look past her weight to get to know who she really is. Following her mom’s death, she’s been picking up the pieces in the privacy of her home, dealing with her heartbroken father and her own grief. Now, Libby’s ready: for high school, for new friends, for love, and for every possibility life has to offer. In that moment, I know the part I want to play here at MVB High. I want to be the girl who can do anything.

Everyone thinks they know Jack Masselin, too. Yes, he’s got swagger, but he’s also mastered the impossible art of giving people what they want, of fitting in. What no one knows is that Jack has a newly acquired secret: he can’t recognize faces. Even his own brothers are strangers to him. He’s the guy who can re-engineer and rebuild anything, but he can’t understand what’s going on with the inner workings of his brain. So he tells himself to play it cool: Be charming. Be hilarious. Don’t get too close to anyone.

Until he meets Libby. When the two get tangled up in a cruel high school game—which lands them in group counseling and community service—Libby and Jack are both pissed, and then surprised. Because the more time they spend together, the less alone they feel. Because sometimes when you meet someone, it changes the world, theirs and yours.

I’ve been wanting to read these books since before they came out, and have really wanted to get into some contemporary lately.

I won’t be able to read them straight away, or maybe not until December, but when I saw these books I could not resist!! I’ve heard great things about them, and ahhhhh, I’m just so excited to read them! Have you read either of them?

But that’s not the only exciting news. My copy of ‘Holding Up The Universe’ IS SIGNED!!! SIGNED!! When I saw it I was nearly jumping for joy and took it straight away! I absolutely love Jennifer Niven, and-as I said-have wanted to read the book for ages, so it was absolutely perfect!!

(Sorry for the really bad quality!)

I was (still am) excited because this is my first signed copy EVER and texted my friend immediately who went absolutely nuts! We were both so happy about it, and screaming at each other over text. She’s currently reading the book, and loving it, and obviously, that’s making me want to read it even more!

FEELING THE AHHHHHH’s!!

How is your weekend going?

I have equally good and similar news: I contacted an author whose ARC I was denied for through Edelweiss, and she was upset that I got denied…so she’s mailing me two SIGNED books: her first book and her second one that is an ARC (the one I got denied for). I’m going to post about it tonight! But look at us: two bloggers who got signed books today!!
I want to read Holding Up The Universe so you better let me know what you think of it! I’m looking forward to your review!
