Hello people!
I am definitely not tracking my Amazon order like a weirdo-book-stalker as I write this. . .
“When Magizoologist Newt Scamander arrives in New York, he intends his stay to be just a brief stopover. However, when his magical case is misplaced and some of Newt’s fantastic beasts escape, it spells trouble for everyone…”
Where to start with this book? It was absolutely brilliant from the beginning to the end, from to design, and in the way they remind me of the film is so clearly it was like I was watching it all over again. Cue “no shit Sherlock” from everyone reading this right now as this is bloody screenplay.
I want to first talk about the design of the book because it is so beautiful and gold and it looks amazing on my shelf I’m not even go deny that fact. It looks amazing. I love the swirling gold pattern and everything and it’s just amazing. Everything is amazing, from the font, to the illustrations.
The format made for a great read! The pace was so quick and it helped build so much tension in the right places, and despite that I knew what the end was going to be, it was still shocking and had me hooked to the very end. I loved seeing the way scripts are played out and things like “TIME CUT,” the stage directions and how they conveyed camera paths etc…
I love the story as well,

I love the story as well, I feel like it’s a brilliant instalment in the Harry Potter world, and I loved seeing it set in the past, especially the 20’s! If you didn’t know, that my favourite time in history and it was a wonderful world they created.
Before I saw and read this, I originally thought that the plot was about Newt having to find random beasts in New York, and then I was surprised by the unexpected route that it took. The plot comes together really quickly about three quarters of the way through, which may seem like a long way thought the book, but because of the quick pace (due to the format) it really didn’t seem like a long way through.
I really don’t know what else to say apart from I loved it and it should definitely be on your TBR if you haven’t read it yet!
Let me know if you have read this or not!
