I’m freaking out over book covers right now.
As a book lover and general bibliophile I often freak at pretty covers.
IK, IK: NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY IT’S COVER!
For me, a pretty cover is a bonus. BUT I’LL BE DAMNED IF PEEPS WONT LET ME APPRECIATE. Some are just too hella pretty not to say anything because,,, well, you catch my drift.
BUT what’s better than just a pretty cover is a BRILLIANT book with a GORGEOUS cover. It’s the whole damn package and AJHH BWEETIFULNESS.
SOMETIMESSSSSSS ITS NOT JUST THE COVER THATS PWETTY. Inside the book is auhhhmazing too. I absolutely LOVE a book with SNAZZY??? formats.
For example, Illuminae. This entire book is made up from snippets of files and strangely displayed text, WHICH MAKES IT EVEN FABULOUS-ER. IT LOOKS AMAZING. I haven’t read it yet (why haven’t I???) but I can surely say that it will be AUHMAZHING and there will not be another book like it!
Some books also LOOK EXTRA FUN by including text messages. For contemporaries—which I’m not really reading any more—I always used to LOVE (ADORE) text messages. As someone who LOVES TEXTING WITH AN ACTUAL OBSESSION it was brilliant .
BUT LIKE… LOOK AT ITTT ALLLLLLLL.
Actually, a book that I really loved to read because of all the messages/texts was The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson. It was all so fun and exciting and just ahhhhh #dreamteenlife (ironic hashtags because I’m obis so hip) but like,,, the texts made it so FUNNNNNNN and there were EMOJIS.
EMOJIIIIIIISSS.
I haven’t EVER seen a book with emojis in it…, like when I saw those I was so happy… and they’re just EMOJIS but the thought makes me HAPPY AF.
MORE BWETIFUL COVERS JUST BECAUSE…
This WHOLE series and SJM’s other series have the MOST BEAUTFULLLLL COVERS. AND THIS IS WHAT I MEAN WHEN I SAY THE WHOLE DEAL. NOT ONLY ARE THE BOOKS FABULOUS IN PLOT, CHARACTER AND EVERY OTHER ASPECT OF THE WRITING, but the COVERS. LOOK AT THE COVERS.
And pretty spines MY LIFE IS HEART EYES ALL ROUND.

I loved the format of Illuminae but I got so bored with the content. I loved The Unexpected Everything, and that it contained a lot of text messages.

I’m excited to see what it’s like to read, as I’ve never read something like this before! Ah the whole book (TUE) was so cute and I loved the text messages.

I love how TUE has a strong focus on friendship and family, and it’s not all romance.

YEAH!!! The romance was just a sort of side note and was a bit more realistic that way and had proper meaning to it. The friendship was such a large part of the book and it made me so happy and value friends so much!!
