HOW TO GO ON A HIATUS ‘IT’S LU AGAIN’ STYLE. ME REALISING I HAVE NO CHILL

Fret not, I’m not going on hiatus. *WHOLE GALAXY TAKES A BREATH* phew! I have an unbreakable bond with the internet called addiction and it can never be broken. I mean, who lives forever tho? me, I’m immortal. I SHALL BLOG UNTIL I DIE. EVEN THEN  SHALL BLOG. I’m not even kidding, I am SO BAD at leaving the internet alone.

Even if—

I’m just going to quit the immortal-blogger-talk here.

I don’t know about you, but I fail at going on hiatus. ALWAYS. I cannot go on hiatus. When I do, or say I’m going to, that’s when I come up with loads of ideas and thoughts and things to say. And how am I meant to not review the books I read??? The whole thing just causes stress and trauma.

(AND OMG LOOK A POST THAT’S NOT 100% BOOKS!)

STEP #1: PLEDGE TO GO ON HIATUS.

This is generally met with a lot of, “byeeeee everyone”s and me saying I DON’T KNOW WHEN I’LL BE BACK and intrinsically I’m thinking “this won’t last long, I tell you. . .”

EATS CAKE TO COMFORT ONESELF

But, I say bye anyways, AFTER A LOT OF THOUGHT. Because pledging to go away and not bless everyone every two days with a dose of moi is a difficult thing to do. But inside you know it’s “for the best” because you have exams, or something like that which just GOBBLES ALL OF YOUR MARBLES AND FREE TIME.

me saying bye like^ but looking less fabulous.

STEP #2: NERVOUS TWITCH OF HANDS BECAUSE I SHOULD BE WRITING POSTS NOW.

Nervous-GIF.gif
I’m basically like this^

This happens approximately 0.0001 seconds after publishing the “I’m-going-away-bye-now-my-subjects” post. But if you’re not as HIGHLY TECHNICAL AS YOUR LEADER AND EMPRESS OF THE GALAXIES (ME- incase any of you forgot) then you can just say it starts RIGHT AFTER pressing “publish.”

EATS MORE CAKE TO COMFORT MYSLEF.

This is where my hands start to twitch and I get nervous because “I SHOULD BE WRITING A POST OR SOMETHING. I’M NOT USED TO THIS,” is going round and round my head. . . This is where I properly realise how much blogging I do. Literally, my life would be so empty.

STEP #3: “WHAT AM I TO DO WITH MY TIME. I HAVE SO MUCH FREE TIME! THIS IS NOT RIGHT.”

*BAM! HIT WITH A TRUCK OF FREE TIME!!*

internally screaming.gif

The thought of “WHAT AM I GOING TO DO WITH MY LIFE” hits in. YOU COULD EAT CAKE The obvious answer is, whatever made you need to go on hiatus, Lu. BUT THAT IS INSUFFICIENT. Blogging had taken over my life in such a way that I now DON’T HAVE FREE TIME because I can always be 1) reading blogs, 2) commenting, 3) writing posts 4) talking to other bloggers.

When you go on hiatus, 3 goes away. 3 is very time consuming though! Honestly, sometimes I have spent practically ALL day just writing posts and eating cake sometimes.

And!!!!! Almost everyday, when all my homework assignments are complete – or even before that – I write blog posts for the future, or just drafts. THIS MASSIVE CHUNK OF MY LIFE IS TAKEN AWAY. BY MYSELF!

STEP #4: *IDEA* *IDEA* *IDEASSSSSSS EVERYWHERE* DAMMIT! BUT I’M NOT MEANT TO BE BLOGGING GAHHHHHHH.

                                                      *idea*

*idea*

                            *idea*

I don’t know about you, but the moment that I decide to go on a hiatus, THESE IDEAS POP INTO MY HEAD. And I don’t mean this in the snobby “ohhh I’ve got so many ideas haaahaaa” way. I just generally start to think about things. Dangerous, I know.

I think it’s because my brain shuts off a bit? I calm down and can think clearer, and then I think of blogging because I miss it, and then I get an idea? DO BRAINS WORK LIKE THIS????  I WOULDN’T KNOW, I DON’T OWN A BRAIN

STEP #5: I CAN JUST WRITE THIS ONE IDEA. @ 3AM *HAS WRITTEN 5 POSTS IN FULL WITH GIFS AND GRAPHICS*

Its currently 2:29 AM when I write this.  I HAVE NO CHILL. SOMEONE BUY ME A FREEZER SO I CAN CHILL THE HELL DOWN.

BUT WHEN I GO ON A HIATUS THE SCRAPS OF CHILL I HAVE LEFT JUST GOES STRAIGHT OUT OF THE WINDOW. And I end up going BLOGGING CRAZY (just me normally but amplified) and JUST WIRTE AND WRITE AND SEEM MAD BUT I JUST KEEP WRITING ANYWAYS.

4 Leaves.png4 Leaves4 Leaves4 Leaves4 Leaves

its not a big deal. . . but you know how sometimes you get like, a . . . just a. . . hint of a zit and you pick at it, and you just keep picking at it and picking at it until it just becomes this SOUL-SUCKING, LIFE-RUINING face crater that you just can’t hide? —THE OTHER WOMAN

. . .  yeah. . .  that’s me with blogging after I try and write just ONE idea down.

STEP #6: *NEXT DAY AFTER GOING ON ‘HIATUS’* “GUYS, I’M BACK, DID YOU MISS ME?” INTERNALLY: WHEN WILL A HIATUS EVER WORK?

*Dramatic entrance of EMPRESS OF THE GALAXIES next post*

POST EXERPT:

HEY EVERYONE.

I said I was going on hiatus. . . but that didn’t work. . .

chat with me

Also I’m sorry about not being that active on other people’s posts also week and only really just uploading. I haven’t been having the greatest time at the moment and I’ve not been in a great place. But I’m trying to keep uploading and focusing on blogging and reading to try and cheer me up a bit.

That’s all from meeeeeee

  1. I haven’t been on a hiatus [yet?], but I definitely feel your pain, haha! I always schedule my posts; especially did so when I was on holiday and then during my holiday I kept freaking out. Ideas popping up; things I thought of that I needed to adjust in scheduled posts and stuff like that.. Imagine NOT HAVING ANY WIFI at that point. Because we were in the middle of freaking nowhere with our tent. And if we weren’t, I couldn’t get any decent connection on my laptop.
    It. was. hell.

Anyway! I’d say, if you’re on a hiatus and you get ideas: just write your post, but try and stick to your hiatus. That way you’ll have a ton of posts to throw at all of your loyal, faithful readers [yeah, I know you’re reading “servants” here] once you get back!
It’s important to get yourself straight if you actually need a hiatus, girl!

    1. Ugh holidays with no wifi is a blessing and a curse because:
      blessing = yay relax.
curse = no wifi = no blogging = sadness.

Yeah, when i go on hiatus for real sometime whenever, idek when, i think that if i do have time to write posts, I’ll just schedule them for when im back or keep them as drafts.

  2. Hahaha this is so funny!!! I totally get it though, going on hiatus is hard because as soon as you announce it you get more ideas!! I am actually taking a break from twitter at the moment because I was becoming waaaaay too obsessed and it was NOT good. This is an awesome post and very, very relatable!!!
