WHY CASSANDRA CLARE BOOKS SHOULD BE READ BY ALL BOOKWORMS

I think that it’s past the time that we all just bow down to Cassandra Clare for real this time.

I mean. . . she made Mark Marvellous Beautiful Blackthorn exist, and if that’s not reason enough, then I don’t know what is. I could list things if you want.

TOUGH. NOW I’M GIVING YOU A LIST BEFORE THE ACTUAL LIST BEGINS.

    • The seraph blades perchance??? ERM. THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL.

    • Just the Herondales in general. . .

    • Or you know. . . IDRIS?? 

(This is basically a reason for me to fangirl about this series and then also to hype me up to finally read LoS. . .)

LET’S FIRSTLY TALK ABOUT THE FIRST-CLASS DIVERSITY.

Okay, so one of the blackthorns has autism, there are several members from the LGBTQ+  community in each book and it makes the books SO REFRESHING. 

RIGHT NOW DEAN IS BEAUTIFULLY DEMONSTRATING THIS. IS IT JUST ME OR DOES ANYONE PICTURE MARK BLACKTHORN A LITTLE LIKE THIS? okay. just me. again.

SO THERE ARE THREE WORLDS FOR YOU TO ENTER??

You are literally spoiled for choice. Okay. SO there’s one set WAYYY in the past, there’s one that’s set LITERALLY RIGHT NOW, and one a couple of years ago.

There’s one with a trio, one with A HUGE TEAM OF KICK-ASS CHARACTERS, and one with the SMOL-EST family to ever exist in fantasy YA.

Speaking of which. . .

  THERE’S SO MUCH LOYALTY AND FAMILY BONDS ARE SO STRONG.

So. Much. family. It actually makes me (A) super envious (B) want to have 435786 children and grandchildren (C) actually warm my cold, dead heart (D) have I mentioned jealous . . .? (E) want to be in the Blackthorn family.

PLEASE LET ME JOIN THE BEAUTIFUL BLACKTHORN FAMILY.

YUP, YOU GUESSED IT.

THERE ARE SO MANY SHIPS TO SHIP MY HEART CANNOT TAKE IT.

I can’t spoil it for people if they’re WEIRD AND HAVEN’T READ THEM YET and have been living under a rock . . . but oh my gosh can Cassandra Clare just stop (A) making me ship literally everyone with anything* (B) making me feel like I need to be a kick-ass warrior AND slay at relationships (C) making my heart explode with emotion.

I just want all of them to have a happy hope ast feed them cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate forever. . .

*I’d probably ship Will with a pencil (or me) or something if Cassie Clare wrote that. I mean… it could be a healthy relationship.

EVERYONE IS SO KICK-ASS.

THIS IS BASICALLY ALL SHADOWHUNTERS AS SOON AS THEY CAN WALK.

Honestly, this series has everything. I!! Just!! Can’t!!

They’re like these 385763-meter-jumping-powerful-demon-killing-hero-demi-angles that kick.ass.every.damn.day while all being tortured smol souls that I adore and want to just look after forever. JEMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

what? don’t judge me . . .

  SIX, THE WIT. 

I just. When there’s a book with certain Herondales, you cannot think for a second that you wont be met with constant witty comments, humour adn downright SASS.

You just can’t.

These books are so brillaintly hilarious and if youread it for nothing else, read it for the comedy.

I think that the funniest of the three series is by far The Mortal Instruments, as there’s Jace, who is literally made of sass and nothing else. Screw genetics. It’sjust sass and nothing else (I mean… there’s good looks too… oh and we cannot forget the amazing fighting skills. . . BUT YOU GET WHAT I MEAN. . . im not obsessed with him or anything). I’M NOT COMPLAINING.

“You said you were going for a walk!? What kind of walk takes six hours?”
“A long one?”

“Usually I’m remarkably good natured. Try me on a day that doesn’t end in y.”

THE BEAUTIFUL LANGUAGE 

“And I’m suppose to sit by while you date boys and fall in love with someone else, get married…?” His voice tightened. “And meanwhile, I’ll die a little bit more every day, watching.”

The characters are so raw, adn the wiritng is so eloquent, and so much EMOTION is displayed in the writing and THE CHARACTES ARE DEVELOPED SO QUICKLY.

I JUST DIE.

I’ve actually died several (thousand) times while reading this series, it’s been a relaxing experience so far.
