so as you can probably tell, this post will follow the current theme I’ve adopted of all posts being a mess. Don’t get your hopes up, ladies and gents.

We all know we like a little bit of the gay around here, and I don’t blame you. PRIDE month for me hasn’t really been that GAY for me yet, so here I am, making it MUCH. GAYER.

GOAL OF THE POST: share some of the gay books I would literally give my soul up for, and also mention some new~~~ purchases that I couldn’t stop myself from buying the other week/ as well as a couple days ago. so. let’s… go do that.

WHAT IVE LEARNT: I should 1000% not write blurbs to books. Or, I 1000% should.

ARISTOTLE AND DANTE DISCOVER THE SECRETS OF THE UNIVERSE.

It’s so worth the long title, I promise you. It’s worth it a million percent.

one of my favourite things about it? it’s not set NOW. It’s set in the 80’s? late 80’s? and it’s not just tragic white-boys either, they’ve both got Mexican parents and it’s SO MUCH DEEPER than just gay boys, bi boys in America in the 80s. It’s TRULY beautiful and i cannot even properly joke about this book BECAUSE IT MAKES ME SO EMOTIONAL I CAN ONLY SCREAM, OK?

i cry so much at this book you have no idea.

And the gay? just the icing. on. the. cake. you have no idea. these books are just SO CLEVER and funny. HIGH FANTASY. AWESOME MAIN CHARACTERS. PLOT FOR THE WORLD? YES YES YES.

I can’t remember how many times I’ve read this book. Like ARI + DANTE this book is SO SO SO important. It’s so much more than what meets the eye and just… breaks my heart and will continue to do so for eternity. it’s just plain cruel.

QUEENS OF GEEK.

This is one of those, happy-gay books that you can just breeze through. it’s not a heavy book, but it tackles a lot of things like anxiety, bi-phobia/erasure and has an asian bi character and a ‘fat’ character as well. It focusses on so many things, like what I mentioned above, but also things like friendship that make it less ROMANCE!!! based, which I love.
