MY (SMALL) MAY TBR: FOR ASIAN HERITAGE MONTH.

Hello, internet gremlins.

what’s this? me posting twice in one dat?? phaahha. unheard of in these realms. (more like me being really disorganised and posting the first one here before i was meant to…)

i though that i would participate this month in everyone else’s celebration of asian heritage month by inviting myself to the party , and reading books by Asian authors, with Asian characters. because you know what, i think that diversity is important. if you haven’t got that about me by now from my blog,,, well. Now you DO know, and remember that for next time (good luck remembering this in a year’s time when i finally post again).

I absolutely SUCK at sticking to TBRs, so naturally, this is PERFECT for me. don’t you think?

I will SMASH this TBR. (my expectations are that i read ONE so…)

kind of a historical book? it’s set in the seventies or smth??? (also reminds me of ari and dante minus the dying people) (also i watched the Dallas Buyers Club, which is about a straight man dying from AIDS and omg it was great)

there is a muslim gay character in this book? an out gay character, and a fat female character (not sure if she is also gay) which just screams AMAZING.

I have heard such amazing amazing AMAZING things about this book??? it’s one of the only books that I’ve heard about while living under my rock, Goodreads did my well by showing me this book!!! It comes out MAY 5TH and i can’t wait to get my grubby paws on it soon.

I’ve had this book stuck on my shelf for SO LONG, but I haven’t read anything in AGES so it’s STILL THERE (crazy). (don’t worry, I’m about to start reading it today(!!) this neglect has gone on long enough.

I’ve heard nothing but utter goodness regarding this book. It’ll probably make me cry, but only the GOOD books do that. (unless we cry over how bad they are)

i can’t believe that i haven’t read this yet? sorry, im always late to the party.

i think I’m the last person on the planet to read this book. I’ve seen the film??? ( (i know, i know, always read the book before watching the film!!) it’ll be interesting to see how they changed the book??? I did like the film, too, so hopefully this will be even better!!

I did like the first one, but I am hoping that this one is even better, ngl *eek*

• ALL ABOUT GREIF I SWEAR??? HER SISTER DIES?? THIS ONE WILL MAKE ME CRY. A LOT.

I REALLY want to read this book, i’ve had it for absolutely ages and i’ve just never got round to it????? MARK MY WORDS THAT WILL CHANGE THIS MONTH.

I’ve heard that there are also Hawaiian characters (She goes to Hawaii? in all honesty I don’t remember a lot about the book because i bought it ages ago on kindle so ) and something about the ace spectrum???? I GUESS i’ll just have to read it and seee then, huh?

ALSO: look at that cover, isn’t it just beautiful?

Akemi Dawn Bowman also wrote Starfish, too, which had amazing asian rep and BROKE ALL MY HEARTS, so I’m under no illusion that this book will also murder me. That book was just so fantastic i’ve been putting off this one because i don’t want to be let down even though i know i won’t be!!! what is WRONG WITH ME???
