Books To Start And Finish In One Weekend.

Happy Fri-yay!

Gosh, I love Fridays. Gosh, I love the weekend. And, I love books that are short, sweet, and I can finish within the weekend. Don’t you? Let me share a few cute short contemporaries that are perfect for this time of year!

Missing those summer vibes for some reason? Amy and Rodger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson is the perfect read for you! It’s cute, easy to get swept up in, and —even if it is a little predictable— a great swoon novel.

Amy Curry is not looking forward to her summer. Her mother decided to move across the country and now it’s Amy’s responsibility to get their car from California to Connecticut. The only problem is, since her father died in a car accident, she isn’t ready to get behind the wheel. Enter Roger. An old family friend, he also has to make the cross-country trip – and has plenty of baggage of his own. The road home may be unfamiliar – especially with their friendship into uncharted territory – but together, Amy and Roger will figure out how to map their way.

Not quite feeling the Christmas calling? Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares is one of the most christmassy contemporaries out there! After buddy reading this, I could;t keep away the Christmas feeling!

7741325“I’ve left some clues for you.
If you want them, turn the page.
If you don’t, put the book back on the shelf, please.”

So begins the latest whirlwind romance from the bestselling authors of Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist. Lily has left a red notebook full of challenges on a favorite bookstore shelf, waiting for just the right guy to come along and accept its dares. But is Dash that right guy? Or are Dash and Lily only destined to trade dares, dreams, and desires in the notebook they pass back and forth at locations across New York? Could their in-person selves possibly connect as well as their notebook versions? Or will they be a comic mismatch of disastrous proportions?

Want to read a college-based winter romance and swoon? A Little Something Different was written for you, with the cute relationship, and the little drama, this book is relaxation and swoon all in one.

img_5444The creative writing teacher, the delivery guy, the local Starbucks baristas, his best friend, her roommate, and the squirrel in the park all have one thing in common—they believe that Gabe and Lea should get together. Lea and Gabe are in the same creative writing class. They get the same pop culture references, order the same Chinese food, and hang out in the same places. Unfortunately, Lea is reserved, Gabe has issues, and despite their initial mutual crush, it looks like they are never going to work things out. But somehow even when nothing is going on, something is happening between them, and everyone can see it. Their creative writing teacher pushes them together. The baristas at Starbucks watch their relationship like a TV show. Their bus driver tells his wife about them. The waitress at the diner automatically seats them together. Even the squirrel who lives on the college green believes in their relationship.

Surely Gabe and Lea will figure out that they are meant to be together…

Want one of the fastest romances ever? Short and sweet? The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight is a wonderful read that’ll be perfect for you! It’s not really for this time of year per se, but the romance is fast-paced, but still very sweet, with a dramatic plot twist. . .

imageFour minutes changes everything. Hadley Sullivan 17 misses her flight at JFK airport, is late to her father’s second wedding in London with never-met stepmother. Hadley meets the perfect boy.

Oliver is British, sits in her row.

A long night on the plane passes in a blink, but the two lose track in arrival chaos. Can fate bring them together again?

  3. The Statistical Probability of Love At First Sight sounds pretty cool. I’d recommend Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon which is relatively short 🙂
