‘Ello,
I saw this post over at Little Fantasy Land, (you can find her post here ) and figured that I would share the “popular”/hyped series&trilogies that I have on my TBR!
The Young Elites Trilogy. . .
This series has been on my TBR since the beginning of this year, though, I’m glad I’ve waiter for all three to be out because then I can read them all at one and witness the amazingness. I am so intrigues by the first book, as I started reading the beginning off of the Amazon ‘sneak-peak’ and I really shouldn’t have because omg, the restraint needed not to spend all my money on this series in hardback is nearly overpowering me!
The Raven Boys. . .
I’ve been putting this series off for ages, I’m hesitant to read this, as I’ve read multiple mixed reviews, but still want to give it a chance. I think rather than buying them straight away, I may buy the first one, and then see whether I continue with the second. As I said before, I’ve heard mixed ratings, but I still want to give it a chance. This series has been waiting patiently on my TBR for absolutely ageesssssssss, and I’d really like to read it in the near future, but then again, I want to read LOADS of books in the near future, and The Raven Boys is a book that I keep on seeming to push back and it isn’t really bothering me as much as other series. . .
The Legend Series. . .
Yes, more Marie Lu! All her books sound amazing, and I don’t think that I’ve read many books like these, and they are screaming at me to be read. I can’t believe that I haven’t read them yet, how I’ve not read them really is a mystery! I’ve been meaning to read all her books for so long and I’m hoping that I can read them before my exams, if not, as a reward for going through 3 weeks of examinations. . .
The Lunar Chronicles. . .
Damn. This series has been in my cart, ‘saved for later’ and on my wish-list 200 times over already. I don’t know when I’ll be able to get around to reading this series, I HOPE IT’S SOON!! My, oh, my, I need to read this series. I CAN’T BELIEVE THAT I HAVEN’T YET!! When I first came across these books—when I was 10 or so—I was like: “Nahhhh” but then as I got more and more into reading, I was like: “Hmmnn, these books sound cool. . .” and now I’m screaming: “I NEED THESE BOOKS”. No doubt about it, I’m reading these books. However, like all the other series/trilogies, I have no idea when I’ll be able to get around to reading these books. . . : (
The Grisha Trilogy. . .
I found about these books after reading Six of Crows, and I have no idea how I’m going to read to them. I’m interested to read them because they’re in a different part of Leigh Bardugo’s world, which is just amazing, and also because it really links in with Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom. However, I don’t know whether it’ll be too different from Six of Crows, and I won’t like it? I’m not sure how to phrase it, but all I’m really trying to say is: I’m quite hesitant about reading these books, despite everyone raving about them.
A Darker Shade Of Magic. . .
If I’m being honest, I hadn’t heard of V. E Schwab until October, I think, when everyone was becoming obsessed with This Savage Song? Anyways, this trilogy started popping up everywhere, and it sounded so unique compared to loads of books out there. At the time, I was still a bit of a contemporary girl, so this trilogy was like, “Hey, look at me, try a new genre!”. And obviously, as my passion for fantasy developed more and more, so has my desire to read these books. The whole “Black London” and “Red London”, and alternate universes/ dimensions seems so cool and, as I said, it’s something completely new and I’d love to try out.
WOW. Thats quite a few books. . . How will I read them all??!?!? I think my library card will be all tattered by the time I’m finished, and my shelved will be all filled up!
What series are you looking forward to?
Most of these are series that I still need/want to read, too! I’ve read ADSOM and AGOS and will definitely be picking up ACOL when it comes out. I read The Raven Boys, but need to read the rest of the series. Hopefully all of these series live up to expectations! 🙂

I hope that you enjoy them when you get around to reading them!

I need to finish The Lunar Chronicles and start the rest of these. I have done horribly with series. I never seem to finish. Maybe I need to grab stand-a-lones going forward 😉

I read a lot of stand-a-lones, despite loving to read series! I love to read the first book from a series and if I love it go on to the rest of the series, but usually it’s a long wait before I can get the second, third, etc, book.

I am usually in a similar position where I find myself waiting for later books in the series.

Like the shades of magic trilogy by v. e schwab, I’m waiting for all of them to be out so that I can read them all in one go

That is probably what I need to learn to do!

I have the complete Legend trilogy sitting on my shelf in their pretty hardback glory. I got them super cheap from a secondhand bookstore and just haven’t gotten around to them yet. I really want to though, they sound great!

OMG they sound beautiful!! Hopefully you can read them soon, Sarah!

It’s okay, except for the Lunar Chronicles, I haven’t read from any of these series yet😉. I have to say that TLC is great, it has a lot of action and diverse, strong characters, even though I haven’t read the last book yet. I honestly don’t read much fantasy, and that’s why I’m a bit nervous to tackle these books😁

Ahhhh, that makes sense. I’ve only got into fantasy quite recently, so that could also be why these big series are getting bumped down on my TBR 🙈🙈

All of these are on my TBR!! I have read Cinder which I really liked, but funds are running low at the moment so I’ll have to wait until 2017 to read these ones!!!

Saem here, with all of them! And my library isn’t very well stocked, so it takes me a little while to save up, but then it makes the experience all the better, don’t you think?

Definitely! And then when you do get them, you treasure them for always 💚💛💜

I’m hoping to conquer The Lunar Chronicles soonish, as it is huge🙈🙈 And also some Marie Lu books, as they’ve been on my TBR the longest!

The only series on this list that I’ve completed is A Darker Shade of Magic. Waiting on Book 3!! I’ve started Cinder, the Grisha Trilogy, and The Raven Boys but need to finish those. And need to start the others! All of them I’d like to read!!

Whoop! At least you’ve started them, ahahaha!
Is the Grisha Trilogy good so far?

I’ve only read book one, Shadow and Bone, and it’s been so long I don’t really remember all of it! *hangs head in shame*
But I just read Six of Crows and currently reading Crooked Kingdom and they’re both great! CK better than SoC so far, in my opinion.
I’ll have to go back and restart the Grisha Trilogy since I don’t remember much from Book 1.

Ohhhhh, I need to read CK so badly, I was going to read it this month, but I don’t think I’ll manage to read it 😦 glad to hear it’s good though!!

It starts off at a much faster pace than Six of Crows. I love it!

That’s great, as I found SoC very slow in the beginning! (little did I know that it would make me love a new genre!)

I still need to finish the lunar chronicles and read legend and a darker shade of magic series
