My Current Read (Infatuation): ACOTAR

‘ELLO!!

nablopomo_badge_2016My current read is killing my emotions.

My feeling are being tested, A LOT.

I’m a little past half way, and I CANNOT DEAL.

Synopsis:

16096824When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she’s been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

(GOODREADS)

This post coincides a bit with my last post, which you can find a link to here. In the post I talk about the AHHH feeling when reading an amazing book.

This book is probably one of the most emotionally-packed reads of this year. Following ATATN, if not more – if I dare say it.

I swear that this book is going to rob me of all my emotions. I’ll give you a quick list:

  • THE AHHHHH
  • Sadness,
  • Happiness,
  • Anger,
  • Fear,
  • Pure Joy,
  • Shock,
  • Aweeeee (cute moments),
  • LOL Moments,
  • MORE SHOCK AND SAD FEELS.

I don’t know why I started reading fantasy, as I’ve basically signed myself up for feeling sad and ‘the AHHH’ mixed in with happiness and aweeee moments ALL AT THE SAME TIME. MY EMOTIONS ARE GETTING CONFUSED.

I HATE IT AND LOVE IT AT THE SAME TIME.

And, because of all of this, I want to find out what happens SO BADLY, but then I don’t want to finish the amazing ness and not be able to read on. *sad face* *sobs in confusion*

As well as the emotion side to the book, the world-building is amazing. In reviews, I don’t talk much of world building, more description, but in this book the world building is phenomenal. Every inch of the world is complete, detailed and precise.

I love being able to picture the world so clearly. I think that it makes Sarah J. Mass an AMAZING writer, as it feels so effortless when you read it.

The pace is just grand. Steady paced, I find, and things are now getting tense. I feel like the whole book was leading up to the moment I’m currently reading (p272). I enjoyed the build up over the months, as it made the character’s relationships more believable. I feel like too many books have the characters trusting each other within days when in real life that just doesn’t happen.

Who’s read ACOTAR? I think that loads of people have, let me know!
